Professional Profile:
David Wechsler is a co-Managing Partner of the firm. Mr. Wechsler concentrates his practice in all aspects of employment and contract law, including handling cases nationally in federal and state courts, before federal and state administrative and regulatory agencies, in public and private arbitration forums including the Financial Industry Regulatory Agency (formerly, the New York Stock Exchange, Inc. and the National Association of Securities Dealers, Inc.), the American Arbitration Association and JAMS, and in various mediation organizations. Mr. Wechsler has also successfully argued before New York’s highest court, as well as before numerous federal circuit courts.

Mr. Wechsler regularly counsels senior and mid-level executives in a multitude of industries, such as financial services (including securities, private equity, banking and hedge fund professionals), fashion/apparel and media/entertainment. Mr. Wechsler also serves as counsel to several significant organizations, including hedge funds, and commodities trading and recruiting companies. He also provides extensive representation to one of the largest U.S. not-for-profit medical research companies.

Mr. Wechsler has extensive experience drafting and negotiating executive employment agreements and separation/settlement agreements, and formulating and drafting company employment-related policies, manuals, and programs. In addition, he regularly litigates actions concerning the enforcement of restrictive covenants and protection of trade secrets, as well as disputes involving compensation, severance pay, defamation, discrimination, unlawful and/or constructive termination, and retaliation.

Since 2007, Mr. Wechsler has been consistently designated as a "New York Super Lawyer," having been chosen for this distinction by both his peers and through independent research conducted by Law & Politics. He is frequently quoted in leading national publications including The Wall Street Journal, has appeared on CNN, and has participated as a noted speaker in a variety of industry panels. Mr. Wechsler has also been selected by JAMS to respond to the questions of its employment arbitrators and mediators regarding current employment law issues.
