Debora Pitman is Counsel with the firm, focusing on all aspects of civil litigation in federal and state courts with an emphasis on insurance and reinsurance matters. As to insurance, Ms. Pitman has significant experience litigating coverage issues, including coverage triggers, additional insured coverage as a risk transfer method, and coverage priority. Further, Ms. Pitman has represented cedants and reinsurers in litigations and arbitrations involving loss allocation, clash coverage, contract construction, and excess salvage distribution.

In addition to insurance and reinsurance, Ms. Pitman has considerable experience in the field of employment law, counseling clients on a wide array of issues, including negotiating employment and separation agreements, and litigating and arbitrating disputes. She also has represented both individuals and business entities in matters ranging from defending against a New York real estate broker’s commission claim for a New Jersey commercial lease to an insurance broker’s liability for premiums received. Ms. Pitman routinely defends major commercial property owners in New York City and the surrounding suburbs against premises liability claims. Concisely stated, Ms. Pitman routinely handles all aspects of litigated matters, from case management and strategy through dispositive motions and appeals.

Before joining Wechsler & Cohen, LLP, Ms. Pitman focused her practice on the defense of attorneys and other professionals. Moreover, Ms. Pitman has significant experience in all real property transfer, title and survey matters.
